The U.S. military sank the largest ship since World War II. Of course, the US touts this as a huge achievement and the headlines in the media look spectacular. In reality, however, in my opinion, it is more likely to cause fear, doubt and a range of negative emotions in many people. Personally, I try to keep abreast of what is going on in the world and what America is doing. But most of my friends tend to avoid information because they don’t want to be overwhelmed with negative thoughts. However, the information about this “success” will go around the world very quickly.
The information is only now coming to light, although the destruction of the ship occurred some time ago. The US military has caused major damage to Iran by sinking several ships as part of the ongoing Operation Epic Fury. But the Shahid Bahman Bagheri is the biggest of them all.
The floating drone base
The Shahid Bahman Bagheri has served as a Japanese oil tanker since 2010. However, it was then converted into a military vessel and has served as part of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ navy since 2025. It was a floating base for drones, helicopters and other equipment. And with its 42,000 tons of displacement, it was the largest warship the U.S. has sunk since World War II.
By comparison, Germany’s largest World War II battleship, the Bismarck, was sunk in 1941. It had a maximum displacement of over 50,000 tons. No one has managed to sink a similar vessel since then, so the US now boasts an apparent success. But what is the reality?
━━ Not since World War II has a bigger battleship been sunk than now. America thus has a great wartime success to its credit in this regard.

The United States launched Operation Epic Fury on February 28. It targeted Iranian military infrastructure in several areas. The loss of several vessels represents a significant setback in Iran’s naval modernisation efforts. As for this particular largest ship, however, it is not quite the success it may seem.
From the outset, there was considerable doubt about the combat capabilities of the Shahid Bahman Bagheri, as it was a converted container ship without armour. Moreover, it was not a full-fledged aircraft carrier capable of launching and landing fighters. While the sinking of the ship is important strategically, it does not prove any great military achievements by America. Indeed, among other things, Iran lacked sufficient escort vessels to protect this relatively slow ship.
