Have you heard about the AB diet? If not, don’t worry, you’re probably not alone. Chances are, like me, you don’t even know what blood type you have. Yet it’s quite important information to know. It’s true that if something happens, the doctor will find out your type in no time. But it’s also essential for everyday life to know what kind of blood is in your veins. That’s what you should eat according to.
Every blood type is a little different. Especially people who have type AB should follow a special diet. Well, when I say special, I don’t mean anything drastic. But it’s good to cut back on some things and add others. Why should you, as a person with this blood type, eat less meat and more fruit and vegetables?
Limit red meat
The AB blood group is considered the rarest. Maybe that’s why people who have it know this information, at least two of my friends have confirmed it. No one else in my circle can answer the question of what group they have, only the two who have AB. It is for them that the recommendation to avoid red meat as much as possible applies. Why?
Because people with blood type AB have low stomach acid. This fact makes it difficult to digest animal protein and promotes fat accumulation. “If you have blood type AB, then you’ll enjoy the best health with a mostly vegetarian diet with some fish and seafood,” says Dr. Peter J. D’Adam, literally.
In my opinion, red meat in general is quite harmful, precisely because it is high in fat, raises cholesterol and has a bad effect on blood vessels and heart health. It’s fine in smaller amounts, but I don’t consume it regularly either. I also limit other meats, especially in fried form. I don’t know my blood type, but as a precaution I eat healthy, which everyone should do. However, people with group AB are more prone to problems.

Just as restricting meat should apply to everyone, supplementing the diet with fruit and vegetables is also a recommendation suitable for all. But again, those of you with blood type AB should focus on your intake of these foods above all.
The daily menu of people with blood type AB should include products such as brown rice, rye flour, fruits, vegetables, fermented drinks (such as kefir), soy and green tea. The advantage of a diet for blood group AB is its variety. It is not about any great restriction, but rather about creating a diet with fewer fatty foods and more foods that replenish healthy cholesterol and break down bad cholesterol.
However, keep in mind that red meat is a strong source of iron, so it needs to be added to the diet in a different way. ‘Dried beans and dark green leafy vegetables are particularly good sources of iron, even better than meat on a calorie basis,’ recommends nutritionist Reed Mangels.
