From a childhood between two cultures

Bruce Lee was born on November 27, 1940, in San Francisco’s Chinatown neighborhood. However, his original name was Lee Jun-fan before he started using the name that the world still knows today. His childhood was influenced by the movement between the US and Hong Kong, as his father was an actor in the Cantonese Opera. As a result, Bruce had access to the world of film from a young age and experienced his first appearance in front of the camera in his first months of life. Growing up in a multicultural environment, he bridged the Eastern and Western worlds, which shaped not only his views but his overall approach to life.

The emergence of Jeet Kune Do

While living in Hong Kong during his childhood and teenage years, he became involved in street fighting, which fascinated him. He subsequently became a disciple of the legendary master Yip Man. He later promoted combinations of techniques from different schools, which became a trend much later. Bruce Lee was a free soul who wanted to live by his own rules without interference from time or other people. His philosophy of life was thus influenced by martial arts and the desire to control his own life. He thus created his own martial arts technique called Jeet Kune Do, which represented the concept of freedom. the concept of freedom, purpose, adaptability and inner strength.

He appeared in a number of other films such as The Big Boss, The Dragon Cometh, Fistful of Wrath and The Way of the Dragon.

A premature end, but an endless legacy
